Terra Nostra, a concert celebrating the earth and the Great Lakes, will be the 2023 season-opening main stage concert for the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) on Saturday April 29th at 7 pm at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts, 800 Bay Harbor Drive in Petoskey.
The GLCO Chorus, led by Director André Strydom, will join the orchestra, led by GLCO Maestro Libor Ondras.
The concert program includes: Spirit Chief Names the Animal People by Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate Terra Nostra (Our earth in Latin), a multimedia symphony by Christophe Chagnard about climate change, with documentary film by Charlie Spears The Great Lakes Cantata, composed by Gwyneth Walker, GLCO composer-in-residence.
The concert includes an optional pre-concert talk at 6 pm by Libor Ondras as well as a post-concert reception.
