About
Welcome: join us for worship Sunday at 10:00am. We are part of the Episcopal Church; our way of worship and way of life are grounded in the Bible, informed by enduring and worthy traditions, and tested by our God-given gift of reason.
When we say “welcome”, we mean it: single or married, partnered or un-partnered, kids or no kids, little kids running up and down, folks with a walker, millennial or boomer or something. Maybe you are in recovery, maybe ''not very religious''.
“Welcome” means you are welcome here, because we follow Jesus Christ, we encounter the awe of being in God's presence together.
So come and bring your family and friends. Come as you are: vacation clothes are fine with us. Questions, doubts, and uncertainties are fine with us. Welcome.
This house of worship was originally one of Boyne City's earliest schools. When it opened in 1879, the area was known as South Boyne, and the teacher, Miss Annie Cooper, had 60 students. Due to growth in the area, the larger schoolhouse was sold to a church when a larger school was needed. Since then, the building has served a variety of religious congregations. Episcopal Church of the Nativity founded in 1985, celebrated its first service at Christmas that year in the home of the Honorable Harvey and Genevieve Varnum. The current building was purchased in 1993 by the small congregation, who continue to work hard to make the space warm and inviting, and to serve God in this community. -
